Standing Out in An Interview - Walrath Recruiting, Inc.

Standing Out in An Interview - Walrath Recruiting, Inc. Whether you are meeting in person, or via facetime/phone call for an interview, you want to ensure you stand out amongst other potential candidates. But how can you do so? What are some things you should focus on to have a successful and memorable interview experience? Check it out! Learn About the Company Before you go to the job interview, you should learn about the company. What kind of company is it? Are they a large or a small company? Whats their mission? How long have they been in business? Do they have good online credibility? Do they have an online presence? Take time to do some research. That way when you have your interview, you have knowledge of the company as a whole and can discuss any pertinent topics as they come up. Understand the Job Duties Review the job description prior to the interview. Are there tasks that you know you could perform really well/have experience with? Are there tasks that you are familiar with but know you would need to learn/teach yourself first? Having these key points to discuss during the interview will show your interest, and attention to detail. Be Authentic This is a cliché but hear us out. The more authentic you are, the more you can build a connection and understand if the position would be a good fit. If you’re authentic and either party doesn’t see you as a great fit for the company â€" thats ok! But if you do, you’ll feel comfortable knowing they know exactly what to expect from you as well. Ask Thought out Questions Tying along with the previous point, if there are things you are uncomfortable with, have questions about, maybe there are factors of the company that would be a deal-breaker for you â€" discuss this! The job being a good fit is just as important for you as it is for them. Send a Thank You Be sure to have some sort of communication after the interview. Whether you call, send an email, or even a handwritten thank you note (yes these still exist!) be sure to include something you connected on, thank them for meeting with you and your excitement about what’s ahead. Here are some further tips and templates. LATEST READS FROM WALRATH RECRUITING: Onboarding Remote Employees How to Work Remote as an Extrovert Books To Read During Quarantine
